Plastronics Socket Company seeks a Mechanical Engineer – Connector Design
Opportunity:
An outstanding opportunity for a mechanical engineer to design and develop burn-in sockets for the semiconductor industry.The job offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in one of the most exciting areas of semiconductor manufacturing. Customers include all the large multi-national semiconductor companies and involvement in the latest in connector and semiconductor technology.
Job Purpose:
Designs mechanical and electro mechanical connectors for the semiconductor test and burn-in markets.
Duties:
You will be responsible for the release and revision of drawings for new and/or existing product lines; ensuring that products meet the reliability, quality and performance requirements per industry standards; work with our manufacturing organization and suppliers to assure design for manufacturability; work with customers, sales, and product management to develop design requirements for new products. To qualify you must have a B.S.M.E. plus at least five years experience in the design and development of electronic connectors and/or sockets. Experience with Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
Skills / Qualifications:
Requirements: Autocad or similar skills with 2D and 3D CAD software; Understanding of plastic and metal fabrication; Understanding of Tolerance Analysis; Conceptual Skills; Quality Focus; BSME; Connector design experience of 5 years or more.
